Photoshop

The introductory assignment to this class was an overview of Adobe Photoshop. We learned to edit photos for specific formats, i.e. web, as an e-document, and tested filters. Below are the samples created. (Click the photo for a larger view.)

Original: the first, unedited photo – Yosemite.yosemite

Next is the photo made for web. Photos optimized for the web are smaller files (153 kb) that load faster but the quality is compromised. This is the photo on my header above.yosemite-web

Photos saved for an e-document have a higher quality and opposite of a photo for the web, take longer to load because the file is well, larger (195 kb). These photos are used for use in something like InDesign to retain its quality.yosemite-edoc

A filter is placed on a photo to… make it more fun! You can apply tons of filters to change the way it looks – greyscale, sepia, or cartoon-y, for example. I went ahead and used the sharpen filter on mine to make the edges in the photo more defined.yosemite-filter
